Description
Rockspire Landing broods beneath the wind-scoured cliffs of the eastern coast, a city hewn from stone and stubbornness. Its twin bastions—Ironwatch and High Bastion—rise like blunt-fingered fists at the harbor’s mouth, their signal fires burning day and night above slate-gray walls. Within, the docks clatter with hammer and hull, where salt-bitten shipwrights build vessels of sturdy wood and iron. Cobbled streets wind through squat, weather-beaten homes and cavernous armories, the air rich with tar, steel, and brine. Though spartan in revelry, Rockspire holds pride in its craft and in its oaths—every nail and blade a promise. It is not a city that forgets. Nor one easily broken.
History
An old Settlement that can trace it roots back to at least the Third Age. A self-sufficient coastal city guarded by tall towers and thick walls; the city joined with the other Chartist Cities as it valued the balance of cooperation and laisse-faire governance. Many foes have been broken before the Sea Wall of Rockspire Landing.
Geography and Layout

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Borun Stonefist | Coin Lord of Rockspire Landing, “Master of Ships” | M Goliath, 46 | Hardened Veteran. Borun now governs Rockspire Landing, the rugged port where the finest hulls in the Corsair Seas are hewn. Rarely ventures far now but is still respected among pirates and craftsman alike. Unconvinced that any lasting peace is possible with the Gith, but will not be the one to start a conflict. His personal flagship, the Tideforger, is an Ironclad Warship of Gnome design and has never met its match on the open waters. Respects Echo and Lady Zhao but fears the latter is too cozy to the Githyanki in the south. | |||

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Emberjaw Ironworks | Foundry & Forge Complex | Vex Corlan, M Dwarf | The rhythmic clang of hammer and bellows echoes day and night as iron, reefstone, and coralsteel are shaped into hull plates, rivets, and weapons. Every item forged is stamped with a stylized open jaw—Emberjaw’s mark. | |||
| High Bastion | Command Keep | Commander Shale Durell, M Goliath | The northern guardian of the harbor mouth, High Bastion bristles with anti-ship weapons and training fields. Commanders of the Chainbreaker fleet often planned campaigns here in wartime. | |||
| Ironwatch Keep | Coastal Fortress | Korra Fen, F High Elf | Ironwatch rises directly from the cliffs south of the harbor, its heavy blackstone walls carved with binding runes and sea glyphs. Where High Bastion commands with precision, Ironwatch endures with brute resilience. It houses siege engines, weatherproof barracks, and magical reserve of supplies designed to endure long sieges. A bronze bell hangs in the central courtyard. It hasn't been rung in several years, but if it tolls, every ship and citizen is alerted and is expected to prepare for battle. | |||
| The Boathammer Quay | Dockside Tavern | Nella “Knots” Brogan, F half-orc bartender | A favored meeting point for captains, mercenaries, and shipwrights alike. Its backroom hosts informal contracts, crew recruitment, and the occasional bare-knuckle brawl. The tavern bar is made from the hull of a ship that once outran a prismatic storm, local lore says knocking on it brings good luck and Beck's favor at sea. | |||
| Spinewall Academy | Naval & Engineering School | Tambric Sootfall, M Halfling | Housed in a converted drydock, the academy teaches siegecraft, ship repair, and battle formations. It also hosts cannonry trials for prototype weapons. Every graduate is bound to five years of service to the Rockspire Landing or the Chainbreaker Fleet. | |||
| Red Docks Armory | Armory | Ivara Morn, F Human with a prosthetic leg of Mithril | The Red Docks store weapons, armor, and siege gear in reinforced vaults watched day and night by veteran guards. Each weapon issued is named after a storm, logged, and ceremonially returned, or recorded as “swallowed by the sea.” if lost | |||
| The Saltspire Archives | Naval Record Vault | Archivist Creel Varn, M Tiefling | A cylindrical, lighthouse-shaped archive that houses every known nautical chart, naval registry, and battle report from the last three centuries. | |||
| The Cracked Horn Arena | Goat Ball Arena | Tharm “Knuckle-Kick” Rusk, retired half-dwarf champion | Built into a natural bowl of reefstone and bleached cliffrock, the Cracked Horn is both training ground and bloodsport venue. Locals gather for weekly matches where armored players hurl themselves across the pitch, chasing the enchanted iron goat skull used as the ball. Betting, chanting, and mid-game brawls are all part of the tradition. | |||
